CASE: Culture Shifts x Marsell

Marsell, the Italian label for shoes and leather accessories, has been consciously involved in art, design, fashion and photography for years in order to sharpen its positioning on the market for luxury goods. The brand’s two Milan showrooms have already hosted numerous exhibitions of contemporary positions from the international art world during fashion weeks and even the Salon del Mobile.
For the reorientation and updating of Marsell’s cultural engagements, Culture Shifts has connected with curator Attilia Fattori Franchini and gallerist Felix Gaudlitz, Vienna, in spring 2022. The exhibition “Marsell presents “Every lie has an audience”” – with works by Claire Fontaine, Seiko Mikami, Stuart Middleton, Georgie Nettell D’Ette Nogle, Tiffany Sia, Davide Stucchi and Nikhil Vettukattil – transforms the Marsell showroom into an immersive artspace that not only attracts people from the art world but also connects the audience to contemporary discourses.
Synergies are created between fashion and art: the subversive effect of the exhibited works supports Marsell’s agenda and opens up a space for reflection that aims to make visitors think about deeper issues in our world.

To mark the collaboration, an additional event with invited guests took place at Marsell’s headquarters as part of the opening during Milan Art Week. The exhibition will be on display in the label’s Milan showroom until May 6th 2022.
